Why Use Spray Foam Insulation instead of conventional insulation products like Fiberglass or Cellulose?

When it comes to effectively insulating a home it is more important to seal the envelope of the structure and stop all air movement between the interior living space and the exterior. Products like fiberglass and cellulose tend to mainly rely on perfect installation techniques to acquire actual rated R-values. This is almost impossible to do using these products because there is no way they can properly seal every odd size or shaped cavities, leaving room for air infiltration, resulting in lost energy and efficiency. Spray foam insulation is a perfect solution for insulating a home because it is always a100% perfect fit no matter what size or shape the cavity is, thus resulting in a properly sealed home which in turn saves energy, money and vital natural resources.

If you can save between 30-60% of your energy consumption by using a product like spray foam then you can reduce your homes carbon footprint by 20-30%. Which translates to about 10 tons less carbon per year that your family dumps into the atmosphere.

Conventional insulation products are treated with harmful chemicals and often "off-gas" or emit dangerous gases into your living environment, sometimes for the life of the product. Icynene is a healthy, environmentally friendly spray foam that has none of these negative characteristics.

We are also "Energy Star" rated, "Green Spec 'd", a member of the Massachusetts Better Business Bureau and Central Mass Builders Association.
